￥5,000 Hotel Discount for Gunma Residents
Discount has ended!
There’s a chance that the prefecture will offer similar discounts in the future, so stay tuned.
Hey there, Gunma residents!
The prefecture is offering ￥5,000 off/cash back per person per night on overnight stays at most hotels and ryokan in Gunma! The campaign is limited to Gunma residents (regardless of nationality) and applies to stays through July 31st.
This could be a great opportunity for a bit of a staycation in Gunma. Get out of that house that you’ve been staying home at for a bit too long, and support local businesses while continuing to avoid traveling too far during this time of transition.
The Gunma Association of Tourism is running and funding this campaign to help out the accommodation facilities that have been suffering from the lack of tourism caused by COVID-19.
** How to get the discount **
1. Double check that the place you want to stay is participating in the campaign.*
2. Make a reservation however you normally would–the usual online suspects work just fine.
3. When you check in, mention that you want to claim this prefectural campaign discount. You can show them the flyer on your phone and say “kore wo tsukaitai” (I want to use this). They’ll ask to see an ID that proves you live in Gunma (a residence card or Gunma driver’s license will work), then give you a form to fill out.
4. Get cash back when you pay for your stay.
